Akya Talent sources and offers funding in the form of bursaries and grants for individuals and organizations that offer training and development programs that are related to the audio-visual industry.

The Akya Education Fund Project

While creativity cannot be taught, your skills and talents can be fine-tuned with the help of a tertiary qualification. If you need tertiary funding, these bursary opportunities could be very helpful.

The goal of the Akya Education Fund is to fund higher education for young Ugandan performers and visuals. The bursary will provide cover for the following study-related expenses: full tuition fees, textbooks, educational equipment, laptop, accommodation in a university residence or private, meal allowance, monthly stipend, monthly data allowance, and student medical aid cover.

Among others, applicants must satisfy the following basic requirements, Be Ugandan citizens, aged between 13 and 30 years of age. Must have completed Primary seven or at least 10 years on Uganda school curriculum, must demonstrate artistic merit, and require financial assistance.

My Talent Project

Akya Talent initiated a project aimed at preserving the traditional cultural arts of Uganda. The “MY TALENT” program dazzles audiences with its exciting and electrifying dances and rhythms that reflect various cultural traditions that relate to the history and culture of Uganda. The objectives of, “MY TALENT,” include the following:

  • Increase students’ understanding of cultural traditions.
  • Explore ways of stimulating students’ non-verbal means of communication.
  • Give students an introduction to the history, language, and techniques of dance and drumming.
  • Expose students to traditional African musical instruments.
